McLean Marlins Swim Team
The Northern Virginia Swimming League (NVSL) was established in 1956 to promote competitive swimming and diving at community pools in Northern Virginia near Washington, D.C. Our mission is to cultivate a love for the sport, enhance aquatic skills, foster teamwork, and instill good sportsmanship.
As we look back on the past six weeks, it's amazing to see everything this team accomplished together.
This season, we welcomed 156 swimmers, including 32 first-year Marlins. Together, our swimmers recorded an incredible 444 personal best times, with 65 best times at the Last Chance Meet alone. Even more impressive, 96.8% of our swimmers improved in one or more events this season.
Our success didn't stop there. We crowned Division 5 Relay Champions, qualified 21 swimmers for the All-Star Relay Carnival, celebrated 11 Individual All-Stars, and capped off the season with a perfect 5-0 record to become 2026 Division 5 Champions.
These numbers tell an incredible story—but they only tell part of it. Behind every best time was an early morning practice, every victory was built by supportive teammates, dedicated coaches, committed volunteers, and families who cheered from the sidelines. We couldn't be more proud of everything our Marlins accomplished together.
