The Northern Virginia Swimming League (NVSL) was established in 1956 to promote competitive swimming and diving at community pools in Northern Virginia near Washington, D.C. Our mission is to cultivate a love for the sport, enhance aquatic skills, foster teamwork, and instill good sportsmanship.

As we look ahead to the 2027 swim season, we’re excited to build on everything this team accomplished together in 2026.

Last season, we welcomed 156 swimmers, including 32 first-year Marlins. Our swimmers recorded 444 personal best times, and 96.8% improved in one or more events. We crowned Division 5 Relay Champions, qualified 21 swimmers for the All-Star Relay Carnival, celebrated 11 Individual All-Stars, and finished with a perfect 5-0 record as 2026 Division 5 Champions.

Those numbers tell an incredible story, but they only tell part of it. Behind every best time is an early morning practice, and every victory is built by supportive teammates, dedicated coaches, committed volunteers, and families who cheer from the sidelines.

We look forward to another incredible season! Start planning and see the swim schedule below.
